While these woman were fortunate, over 50 other people died in drownings and electrocutions.
Inadequate drainage in older parts of the city worsened the flooding situation.

Torrential rain and strong winds battered the Argentine capital and its suburbs, knocking out power, downing trees and affecting 350,000 residents.
