Pakistan investing $150m in billion-tree reforestation

Illegal-logging and the threat of climate change, has led one province to begin a massive tree-planting effort.

Pakistan’s forests are shrinking rapidly because of illegal logging.

Coupled with land erosion and the threat of climate change, one northern province has decided to start a massive tree-planting effort.

They plan to plant a billion trees over the next four years, and are investing approximately $150m into the scheme.

Nursery owners in the region believe the initiative will not only boost the their own businesses, but also bring in more people to invest in the industry.
