Australia’s youth prisons accused of abuse

An inquiry into abuse at youth prisons in Australia’s Northern Territory has called for the closure of one of the detention centres.

It found what it says were ‘shocking and systemic failures’ that were ignored by top officials over many years.

Most of the inmates were Aboriginal.
